Pilot Description

Students use Javascript, HTML, and CSS to gain familiarity with web-page structure and front-end web design best practices. Educators lead discussions that explore various STEM careers and project-based activities that encourage students’ interests in web development.

Learning Objectives

Each lesson plan is designed to enable students to achieve specific learning outcomes related to course aligned computer science competencies. For example, at the end of this course students will be able to:

  • Recognize the basic components which make up the internet.

  • Compose an HTML tag framework using the HTML hierarchy.

  • Explain the purpose of different HTML tags.

  • Explain the types of conditionals and interpret them using if, else-if, and else statements.

  • Explain the importance of website accessibility.
